JOSEF ŽÁK – VIOLIN - VOCALS
I inherited the love for music from my parents. My mother sang to me even before I was born, and taught me and my siblings lots of folk songs, while our father led us to playing and performing. Apart from folklore, I am fascinated by the so-called „fiddle music“, folk music from the south-eastern region of the U.S., originating from Irish and Scottish music, in which the violin as a folk instrument dominates intensively, and improvisation plays one of the key roles. Even after I graduated from the Music Academy, I felt attracted to folk music and improvisation, and they both keep inspiring me. I recognise my true nature in them, they bring me the feeling of freedom in musical creativity, and they should be approached with reverence and humility, as music is a wonderful gift from heaven.
